VIP Personal Training

Posted by admin

Up north, the brutal experience of shopping for a new swimsuit only happens once year. Down here in the tropics, bathing suit season never ends. The last time I braved the swimsuit sale at rack at TJ Maxx, I decided to hire a top notch personal trainer to tone things up for the next bikini.

Sue Merren is well known in the Cayman Islands for her tremendous client success stories. Sue is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer and Stott Pilates certified instructor, and the owner of Innovative Fitness Pilates & Personal Training in Grand Cayman.

First, Sue provided me with a detailed questionnaire that thoroughly explored my fitness goals. She met with me prior to our first training session to discuss her game plan with me. The actual training sessions were fantastic. Sue is motivating, knowledgeable, and extremely effective. After the initial soreness wore off, I started looking forward to the serious work out sessions.

The bottom line after eight bi-weekly sessions? Personal training rocks! My body fat percentage dropped, my energy level increased, and I built solid muscle mass. My pants are a little looser around the waistline and my self esteem received a significant boost.

To start your own personal transformation, treat yourself to personal training with Innovative Fitness.

Nia dancing in Cayman

Posted by admin

Most of us don’t associate working out with having a blast. I tried a Nia dance class at Fitness Connection last week and had so much fun I hardly noticed how hard I was working out. Nia is a dance fitness practice which offers a fresh perspective on how to get fit and strong while celebrating self empowerment. The class has soft lighting, groovy international music, and an interesting mix of dancers ranging from ”two left feet” novices (like me) to professional dancers. Check out this video to see a Nia dance class:

Kerrie Hughes is one of Cayman’s longtime fitness enthusiasts. As an RN, Kerrie recognizes the value of heart healthy cardio activities and is on a constant quest for fitness options. Kerrie tried a Nia class at home in Canada and fell in love with the Nia experience. Kerrie became certified as a Nia instructor and has brought the magic to Fitness Connection on Monday and Wednesday evenings 7:20PM-8:30 PM. Come and try a class! Your first one Nia class is complimentary. Call 949-8485 to reserve your spot.
