Taste of Cayman

Taste of Cayman

Don’t miss out on the 21st annual Taste of Cayman on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008. Sample different cuisines, enjoy live entertainment and bring the kids for fun and games.

Over 30 of Cayman’s finest restaurants will showcase their best dishes, featuring both local and international cuisine. Nibble on everything from mouth-watering Greek dips to Jamaican jerked chicken and pork. Japanese teriyaki steak, Caymanian rum cakes, fudge, conch fritters and marinated conch are just a few of the choices for visitors. The restaurant showcase starts at 5pm at the new Camana Bay’s Towne Center, complemented by drinks from the fully-stocked cash bar.

Entertainment includes local bands and DJs playing calypso, soca, rock, reggae, country and pop. Kids can enjoy carnival games, storytelling, arts and crafts, bouncing castle, face painting, and clowns.
The proceeds from the night’s event will benefit the Lighthouse School, the Pines Retirement Home, and many other local charities.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be richly fed, entertained, and to help local charities.

Cayman Sea Salt

Posted by admin

Looking for a local product to take back home? Try Cayman Sea Salt, a 100% hand produced solar sea salt made from the Caribbean Sea. I switched over to Cayman Sea Salt recently and use it as a primo seasoning on grilled seafood, fresh salads, tropical fruits and popcorn. The taste is superior and compares to any luxury salt in the world. The Luxury Bath Salts are a total treat, and come in luscious flavors like Sea Breeze and Jasmine. You can find Cayman Sea Salt at supermarkets like Kirk, Fosters and Hurley’s, and the craft market. You can even pick some up on the way out of town at the airport Jacques Scott Location.

Lunch for One

Posted by admin

You deserve a treat today. Instead of a cold deli sandwich or the ramen noodle cup you planned on wolfing down while reading emails at your desk, treat yourself to a delicious hot lunch at Gateway of India at the Strand. For only $9.95, you can eat a leisurely lunch buffet worthy of a goddess. The selections are different every day, with crisp salads, fragrant basmati rice and melt-in-your-mouth nan bread. Main dishes usually include a beef, chicken, fish and veggie options. The Fish Vindaloo is to die for. Just remember to pop an Altoid before going back to work. If you must, you can load up a container to go, but you’ll miss the impeccable service Gateway of India is known for. C’mon, we’re worth it!
