Ginger Lily Frozen Yogurt

Posted by admin
Ginger Lily Yogurt

Ginger Lily Yogurt

Are you on the hunt for a great-tasting healthy treat? Head on over to “Ginger Lily” at Camana Bay, for an absolutely delightful taste sensation. Ginger Lily features healthy frozen yogurt, with options that are very new for Cayman: don’t miss the “Natural Tart”  flavor (high protein Greek yogurt), Soya (dairy free) or Sorbet (also dairy free.)  There are the daily flavors: French Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Mocha, and a Sorbet flavor. On a seasonal basis, they have flavors like banana, guava, pumpkin, green tea, mango, blueberry, raspberry, passion fruit, cranberry and many others. (I will be pounding on the door when mango season begins to get a taste of the fresh mango frozen yogurt!)

The Natural Tart flavor is simply AMAZING, all alone. All the frozen yogurt is tasty enough to eat plain. Feel free to add in a simple fruit fruit topping, or other healthy toppings, like granola, agave nectar, nuts, or cereal , or you can splurge with the homemade brownie topping, or Oreos.  They also have traditional treats like sundaes, banana splits, Hurricanes (frozen yogurt blended with toppings), Lily Shakes, and milk shakes. The Lily Shakes are made with fresh juices and up to 4 fresh fruits blended together. They also have cookies, and fruit cups, which are wonderful topped with the frozen yogurt of your choice.

They open early. Here is my absolute favorite menu item: terrific old fashioned oatmeal. Why? Because oatmeal tastes delicious served with tart frozen yogurt, and fresh fruit, drizzled with a bit of agave nectar. TRY IT.

There is something for everyone at Ginger Lily! See you there…

Drink Fresh Juice!

Posted by admin

Green Veg Juice

Green Veg Juice

How are we supposed to consume the recommended 5-10 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every single day, with the busy lives that we all lead? How about this as a solution: fresh, delicious juice, delivered to you ! All you have to do is stick your straw into a glass of luscious just-squeezed fresh juice, and drink up your vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Drink Fresh Juice is an innovative natural juice experience. They make all natural fruit and veggie juices, delivered island wide to offices, schools, gyms, and private homes.

The signature drink is Green Veg: Callaloo, Cucumber, Celery, Apple, Lemon, and Ginger. The callaloo is freshly cut from the ground each day, and the quality is sensational! If you have not tried green juice, be brave and TRY IT! (Don’t just smell it, stare it at it, or snicker at it; just go ahead and TASTE IT! C’mon!) It’s amazing, with wonderful benefits. I started off with drinking it three times a week, and found that my energy level was so much higher on the days I was drinking the green juice that I am now drinking it 5 days a week! It’s ADDICTIVE! However, If you can’t get your mind around green juice just yet, don’t worry! Drink Fresh Juice has many other beautiful flavors to choose from that aren’t green (LOL) like Apple, Carrot & Beet, or Fruit Blend which is a beautiful mix of Pineapple, Pear, Cantaloupe, Pear and Ginger. Traditional folks can choose fresh squeezed orange juice, which will put “Tropicana-juice-from-the-carton” to shame. If your office/church/team would like to arrange for a tasting, please contact Drink Fresh Juice ASAP to set one up! Just don’t be surprised if you end up “Going Green”…Green Juice is the top seller for a reason!

The company is not even a year old, and so far the response has been very positive. The clientele is mostly corporate. The goal of the owners is to provide a natural, effective & convenient way to consume healthy nutrients, to everyone in Cayman..especially children! They also want to educate their clients about the benefits of FRESH juices. They are sharing healthy living information via their website, facebook fan page, Twitter, business cards, etc. (The word is getting out fast, since I have had a dozen or so recommendations to write them up on my blog, from happy clients.)

This wonderful juice is only $5.00 per glass. That’s a BARGAIN. Especially considering that the price is including delivery! I can’t make my own juice for $5.00 per glass. If you have ever made your own juice, you know it takes a ton of produce to get just one glass of juice. And if you’ve ever pumped gas in Cayman, you know how expensive fuel is!  If you think $5.00 a day is not worth it, think of all the other ways we spend 5 bucks. Lattes, coffees, fast foods, cocktails, etc. A glass of vitamin & mineral packed FRESH juice is very affordable, and good ”bang for your buck”, nutritionally. We’re WORTH IT!

Menu

Monday, July 4th, 2011 is a holiday in Cayman. What better reason to head over to The Brasserie and indulge in a meal featuring fresh caught fish, just-picked local produce, and expertly selected wine? Leave the cooking to the chefs, enjoy the lovely decor & friendly staff, and savor some of the freshest ingredients in Cayman. Most of the veggies come from Brasserie’s own organic garden, and the catch-of-the day is from “The Brasserie Catch” fishing boat. You can’t beat that!

I think it’s worth heading over for the dessert: Coconut White Chocolate Cake, with Rhubarb Ice Cream,  and fresh basil garnish. YUM YUM YUM. See you there!

Belgian Waffle

Belgian Waffle

My new favorite munching place in Cayman is The Brasserie Market, and I’m not alone! The casual lunch bistro next to The Brasserie is wildly popular, and it deserves to be: the lunch offerings at The Brasserie Market are fabulous. Choose from giant made-to-order salads with delicious add-ons like shrimp, prosciutto or fresh caught fish, AMAZING burgers (including Kobe beef, turkey or veggie), yumm-o hearty soups, and terrific sandwiches on Cuban, Focaccia or French bread. The food is fresh and beautiful, and the atmosphere is fun & happening, so this place is always PACKED!

We knew it wouldn’t be long until those clever folks at the Brasserie came up with a lovely “grab & go”, or “sit & savor” Breakfast Menu. You can swing by and pick up a fresh baked scone, muffin, croissant, bagel, breakfast bread, or toast. Or, for a little more fuel, grab some of their “soon to be famous” House Granola & House Made Yoghurt (WOW) or Steel Cut Oatmeal. You can also opt for a Cayman Sandwich, Patties, a Sausage Roll, or a Panini. If you have time to linger over the morning paper, you can do a little people-watching, and enjoy one of these gorgeous breakfasts:

Authentic Belgian Waffle with choice of whipped butter, berry compote, fresh fruit, and whipped cream (CI $7.99 Whole, $4.99 Half)

Two Eggs Any Style with Hash Browns, Toast and Choice of Bacon or Sausage (CI $8.99)

Breakfast is served daily 7:30AM-10:30AM. One more thing: the coffee is superb! Treat yourself soon!
