Posted by admin

Cayman gals, the hot weather is coming! If you need a little boost, stop into Le Visage, the best place I know of to get gorgeous, fast! (Le Visage has the best selection in skincare and cosmetics that I’ve seen-anywhere! I even import Le Visage products back to my US family when I visit; their exclusive products are amazing.) I love the fact that owner Sharron Eyers constantly brings in new products to keep her clients looking their best.

Newly arrived at Le Visage in Camana Bay - Bliss Skincare! Established in 1996, Bliss has exploded into the world’s most famous spa with 22 locations around the globe. From Hollywood to Hong Kong, Boston to Barcelona and Dallas to Doha, Bliss continues to bring the latest and most effective spa treatments and products, challenging convention along the way and infusing everything with the signature Bliss touch – all to make you look and feel absolutely ‘spa’-tacular. Le Visage is offering a wide range of Bliss pro-powered products from the wrinkle-reducing The Youth As We Know It facial products and radiance-enhancing Triple Oxygen line to the Bliss cellulite-targeting Fatgirlslim body treatments. They have a wide range of fabulous choices that let you recreate the Bliss Spa treatments at home and reap the same spa-strength benefits.

The staff pick is: The Bliss triple oxygen instant energizing eye mask…”with 3 forms of glow-inducing oxygenation, antioxidant vitamin C and puff-pummeling cucumber extract, this fabulous eye mask is sure to help you feel recharged and look refreshed – even after a late night out.”

Little Black Dress

Little Black Dress

Funky Monkey, one of my favorite stores for unexpectedly cool clothes and accessories for women and men, is packed with new merchandise! If you are like me, you will stop in to buy gifts, and end up picking up stocking stuffers, as well as that perfect Little Black Dress for the office Holiday party. In addition to many hot LBDs (think short with a little bling) they also have Little Red Dresses, and many other perfect dresses for the holiday party circuit. They also have the sexiest jeans: LA Idol. The  jeans only look super expensive: they fit perfectly, starting at only CI $69.00! Pair them with heels, a Funky Monkey flowy top, and some of their super cute and very unusual accessories. You’ll be all set for the Monday-Thursday holiday parties that require sexy-but-casual attire. Needless to say, the trademark amazing swimsuits are here: for boating, house parties, and beach parties, where a truly beautiful suit is necessary. (With Facebook, don’t get caught with a tired old bikini if you live or relax in Cayman! Great looking beachwear should be a standard part of every Caribbean girl’s wardrobe.)

LA Idol Jeans

Gents: Funky Monkey has great looking shirts for the holiday season, but get there soon: they are selling like hotcakes. Pick yours up now! The really big fashion news for men is SAXX Underwear Co. The design is revolutionary, the fit is amazing. Funky Monkey owner Jodi Hunter says men are throwing out all their existing underwear and buying only SAXX, after buying their first pair.

Stocking stuffer ideas: JAZZD-a manufacturer of handbags, wallets, coin purses, and make-up bags.

Pop in soon! Funky Monkey is a fun, energizing place to shop. Jodi and her friendly staff will get you looking great for the holidays.

Get Gorgeous at Le Visage

Posted by admin
Le Visage

Le Visage

A truly revolutionary cosmetics & skincare boutique has opened in Grand Cayman: Le Visage. There is nothing like it the Cayman Islands! The store carries extraordinary product lines, including skincare, makeup and hair care products. The most compelling reason for stopping by is to meet world class consultant & makeup artist Sharron Eyers; she’s available for skincare consultations and Professional Makeup Artistry Services. Sharron has many years of experience working for other companies like Estee Lauder, Clinique, Clarins, and The Body Shop. She has also worked as a professional makeup artist. All the while, she was dreaming of opening her own store, with best of breed products, and now that dream has become a reality, in Camana Bay.

Le Visage is wonderful! The products are fantastic, especially the Kevyn Aucoin cosmetic brand. The merchandising is dreamy, and Sharron is a magician! I walked in over the weekend feeling droopy, and left looking & feeling beautiful. Better yet, all week long, I’m getting compliments about my new “look”-ranging from “You look great!” to “Are you getting more sleep?” There is nothing like a makeover to perk up your self esteem! (Hint: ask about the Kevyn Aucoin mascara. Best ever!!)

Don’t worry about getting “oversold”. Sharron has skincare lines that will suit everyone’s budget, and she won’t sell you anything you don’t need. The Lavera skincare line is lovely and affordable. Everything from Lavera is organic, biodegradable, & cruelty-free (not tested on animals.) Be sure to ask about the hair care products from Lavera too!

Le Visage has a suite of Professional Makeup Artistry Services to get you comfortable with expert makeup application. Even though the store has only been open for a few weeks, these services are already quite popular with local Cayman fashionistas. What a great way to glam up on your way to a special event, party or wedding! Book now; they are sure to be very busy for the Cayman holiday season:

“Girl’s Night Out“: Treat yourself to a premium makeup artistry service. Whether it’s for a glamourous night out, or an intimate night in, let Le Visage indulge you  CI $75 (40 minute service)

“For Your Eyes Only” Transform your eyes and receive tips from the experts CI $40 (20 minute service)

“Wink Wink” Want to add some drama to your look? Choose from the premium false eyelash collection to add that finishing touch CI $20 (10 minute service)

“Tying the Knot” On your most important day, relax while the experts take care of your makeup. This complete package includes initial consultation, trial run, and final application. CI $200 (2 hours) *

“Teach Me” Love the idea of makeup but don’t know how to apply it? Le Visage will teach you step-by-step, the art of makeup application. A personal chart is included and the lesson will be tailored to suit your needs. CI $100 (Private 1 hour lesson)*

“Art Class” Give “girl’s night” a new twist and bring two of your closest friends to Le Visage for a private group makeup class. CI $225 (1.5 hr class, 3 students)*

*This indicates private class and includes private shopping

If you get one of these luxurious services in November, you’ll get 15% percent off! One more reason to treat yourself!

I’ve already been back a second time to pick up more Kevyn Aucoin makeup. Once I compared it to my other cosmetics (Mac, Bobbie Brown, Laura Mercier) I went back to buy more. It’s incredible. Sharron prices everything comparable to what you would expect find in a US department store. I was pleasantly surprised. Visit soon for expert advice, a wonderful & soothing environment, and sensational products. Let’s all remember to support our local Cayman retailers, so they can afford to remain here!

Chi Ceramic Flat Iron

Chi Ceramic Flat Iron

If you are from the US and are missing your local Sally’s Beauty Supply store, don’t worry, The Cayman Islands has its own rockin’ beauty supply centre. Beauty Centre & Supply is tucked away in Industrial Park (call for directions: 345-945-7698, it’s not hard to locate) and it’s well worth the effort of finding it. You’ll find a wide array of items such as a shampoo, conditioner, hair color, deep conditioning treatments, styling tools, hair accessories and clips, nail polish, spa and body products, bulk salon supplies, and skin care products.

I purchased the best selling Chi ceramic flat iron. A top stylist in Grand Cayman referred me to the Beauty Centre and recommended the Chi flat iron, along with tips about home use from this web site:

http://www.misikko.com/how-to-use-a-flat-iron.html

Stop in soon and visit with the friendly staff at the Beauty Centre. They have excellent prices and lots of stuff to help us get even prettier! If you can’t locate exactly what you need, ask for Susan Campbell, Cosmetologist. She’s knows the products up & down and will help you with anything you need. Tell her the Goddess sent you!

Dieting on a Dime

The Book Loft

The Book Loft

Need some inspiration for slimming down this year? Get in on the best-kept secret in Grand Cayman: The Book Loft at The Cayman Islands Humane Society on North Sound Road. There are a ton of almost-new books to jump start your healthy lifestyle: books on diets, weight training, fitness and self-help. The super-friendly volunteer staff has even set up a diet and exercise display table with loads of books to get you motivated. All the classics are there, including hardback books like The South Beach Diet cookbooks, The Atkins DietBody For Life, The Suzanne Somers books, and The Zone. And each book costs about as much as a fancy cappuccino drink!

The Book Loft is fascinating place to get lost in, and is packed with books on every subject. The cozy little store is well organized and the books are an absolute steal! Books are priced to sell, most under $5.00! If you hunt around, you can find very recent New York Times bestsellers for a fraction of the original price. I found a whole stack of almost-new books today with the Borders bookmarks still in them! Cayman residents are a well-read bunch; and folks cheerfully bring in books by the dozens, each and every day.

In addition to a vast selection of fiction and non-fiction, there is a terrific children’s section (including games), CDs, DVDs, textbooks and loads of international magazines.

Stock up on some quality reading materials and help out a shelter pet today. All proceeds benefit the too-wonderful-for-words Cayman Islands Humane Society. If there is any room in your heart for a new companion this year, visit the shelter downstairs and meet some of the wonderful cats and dogs looking for a new home. Warning…the dogs and cats are adorable and most are extra friendly! Say hello to Miss Sugar, the tireless director of the shelter who is the guardian angel of stray pets in Cayman. If you can’t adopt a pet, consider being a foster home provider or even walking the dogs Monday-Saturday at 9:00 AM.

Every little bit helps, so please visit The Book Loft soon and stock up on some inspiring books for 2009.

Going out on the town tonight in balmy Grand Cayman? You’ve got a the strappy little dress,  the tan legs and the chunky wedge shoes. The final touch is barely-there makeup that looks like you’ve been kissed by the sun.
Visit The Body Shop in West Shore Centre and discover Nature’s Minerals Make-Up. Create a flush of sheer, luminous color with Nature’s Minerals Cheek Color. Choose from glam colors like Pink Quartz, Golden Terracotta, Warm Copper, and Bronze Topaz. All the blends are suitable for sensitive skin and contain Mediterranean Clay for lasting, natural coverage. Dermatologist-tested and fragrance free too.
While you’re at it, sample the other products in the Nature’s Minerals line such as foundation and eye color. Mineral makeup is ideal for sunny days and Caribbean nights on the town .
The Body Shop in Grand Cayman is worth visiting for all your bath and body needs. The store is decorated for Christmas and smells of fragrant cranberry and spice candles. Be sure to say hello to Moira and Ruth, the friendly and helpful directors who obviously enjoy helping the ladies of Cayman stay pampered and beautiful.
